  PEOPLE in South Tyneside are putting the finishing touches to their creations for this weekend's annual Cookson Parade.
  
  Parade participants and spectators are also being invited to attend a free summer fayre in Bents Park immediately after the parade, and a variety of stalls and attractions which will stay open until 4pm.
  
  The parade route takes the floats and attractions from the Town Hall in Westoe Road, down Fowler Street and into Ocean Road, finishing at Bents Park.

  We are running a free samba carnival drumming group at The Customs House in South Shields leading to a performance in The Cookson Parade on Saturday 3rd July.
  
  The sessions are every Wednesday night from 26th May - 30th June 2010.
  
  The aim is to create a kicking carnival drumming group to take part in the Cookson Parade on 3rd July 2010.
  
  The sessions are FREE and we provide all the instruments. No experience is necessary.

  Dance Carnival Club
  
  We will be creating a special group that will perform in this year's Cookson Parade alongside a special carnival music group that is being created too. It is for any individuals interested in dance who would like to take part in the parade.
  
  It will meet at Bents Park Cabin on the following Mondays:
  
  7th June, 14th June and 28th June from 7pm - 9pm
