  • Englands TIme To Shine

England have dragged there heels so far in the World Cup, however I think that when the pressure is up against them, is when they play there best football, and today will be a shining example of that.

They need to be going into the match with a winning mentality and I am sure they will win. I believe Rooney will be playing his best football and Gerrard and Lampard will dominate the Midfield.

I am predicting a 3-0 win for England, and Rooney gettingh at leasty two of those!

    • Wayne Rooney

I would be really interested what everyones opinions are on the latest Rooney outburst.

Please leave your comments and feedback, lets find out what South Tyneside think of Wayne Rooney.

      • Argentina Domination

Argintina turned on the style today, flexing their offensive muscle against South Korea.

Maradonna has been critisized for his managing ability, constantly changing his tactics and many people had sometihng to say about his team selection, especially his decision to take Gutierrez, but he could certainly hold his head up high after todays performance.

A dream semi final could be on the cards for Spain v Argentina, but that is still quite some way away yet.

South Korea was never going to be a favourite in this match but they did show some urgency, and in the final minutes of the first half managed to pull one back. Some sloppy play by Argentina gave a South Korea team an easy opportunity to get back into it. However, the scond half failed to see South Korea back come back into the game, and Argentina killed off the game.

Gonzalo Higuain came of age in this game gett the first hatrick of the World Cup, and also the top scorer so far of the competition.

        • North Korea Surprise Package

North Korea surprised alot of people last night with their performance against Brazil. Brazil did not look the the force they once were, but still showed signs of excellence.

North Korea started of emotional as one player was in tears as he sang the national anthem, but when the whistle blew it was all business.

North Korea showed some excellent defending and also managed some good counter attacks, which seemed to surprise Brazil and gave them a hard time.

North Korea look to be a surprise package in this group, who were, before the tournament started very much the underdogs.

Portugal and Ivory Coast will be taking notes from last nights game, and will be alot more apprehensive when they play them.

On another note anyone who watched World Cup Live will have seen the fan fall out of the stands on 46 mins, and the remake of the Gemany miss against the Austrailians, recreated by james Cordens' mam.

          • Ledley King Injury Doubt/ England v USA

England defender Ledley King will continue to be monitored on a daily basis amid reports that his World Cup campaign is over.

King suffered a groin injury in Saturday's draw with the United States in Rustenburg and was immediately ruled out of Friday's second Group C encounter against Algeria in Cape Town.

However, it is thought the damage is more serious than that and with a recovery period of three weeks hinted at, the fear is that King will play no further part in the competition.

The 29-year-old was at training on Monday morning but spent only the briefest time on the pitch when Fabio Capello delivered a short address to the squad.

He then made his way to the pool to continue his rehabilitation work.

"Ledley has a groin muscle strain. He will be assessed on a day-to-day basis," said a Football Association spokesman.

England suffered from a lackluster start to there World Cup campiagn, with a deflated started against USA.

Robert Green Allowed USA back into the game, after Steven Gerrard gave us the perfect start.

Once Green made his blunder England looked short of ideas and motivation, in a match that failed to impress me. I feel a lot of hard work needs to be done if England are to meet the nations expectations.

An expected injury to Ledley King, Barry and Ferdinand also ruled, out makes me wonder if taking experience over youth was really a good idea???
